GMC Coaching Recovery ride
Invitation: GMC Coaching riders only
Distance: 35km
Meet: 6.15am at Meccano Restaurant (same place as the Waterfront TT start).
Description: We head down the Waterfront to the park in St Heliers, around the park and up Dingle Del. Left at the top onto Long Drive, we then do a loop around to Riddel Road and back onto the Waterfront. From St Heliers we head back into the city for a Branko’s Coffee and chat at BikeCentral.
Pace: The whole ride is ridden at recovery pace, so is ideal for every level. Average speed 25-30kmph
It’s a great opportunity for all GMC Clients to have a spin together without the pressure of racing and a good chance to compare notes on training etc.

GMC Coaching Torture Loop
Invitation: GMC Coaching A-B grade standard riders only
Distance: 100km
Meet: 6.00am almost every Wednesday at Point Chev Corner (By the bike path)
Description: This ride is for the Hard-core. 100km of pain and hills. An early season with efforts varying from strength-endurance work outs through to overspeed efforts and race pace lapping it out.
We indulge in a coffee at Eurobake in Albany after 70km, before the final 30km steady ride back to Point Chevalier.
Pace: Mostly ridden at a steady pace, but it does get harder as the big races loom during the season. Average speed 27-35kmph
GMC Saturday Pain Train (December, January only)
Invitation: Open invitation A-B grade standard riders only
Distance: 100km
Meet: Saturdays 9.30am same place as Torture Loop ride.
Discription: Same circuit as the Torture Loop, but as it's open invitation you can expect to see a large amount of Aucklands Elite/A Grade riders in Attendance (and once in a while some of the South Islands finest make an appearance aswell).In the short time this ride has been running Olympians, Comm Games medalist's, Pro's, National Champions and Centre Champions have all come out to test and hone thier form for the big races ahead.If you think 100km in the hills won't be hard enough for you then head down and do the 16km Waterfront TT in the morning, then show up to the Pain Train, I promise you'll go home shatterd but with a smile on your face.
Pace: Hard! The climbs are ridden at full race pace aswell as a large percentage of the flats...afterall there is bragging rights for a whole week to be won.
